Seamus on a roll as we go into April
Here’s hoping Seamus carries on into April where he left off in March – our last two runners both won, Synodic at Lingfield and Bletchley Castle at Fontwell – and we kick off the new month with Meldrum Lad in the novices’ handicap chase at Huntingdon today.
Seamus said: “Meldrum Lad is an Irish recruit who ran a pleasing first race for us over this course in February, and that will have sharpened him up so hopefully he’ll be competitive here.”
The improved going on the turf tracks definitely helped Bletchley Castle who galloped the opposition into submission at Fontwell, while Synodic, who has rattled off three wins on the polytrack at Lingfield, clearly loves that surface and is entered up again at Kempton on Friday.
Seamus added: “Synodic has gone up a stone since he started that winning spree, and, though Kempton is the other way round, I don’t see the track being a problem if we decide to roll the dice again this week. The horses are running well and long may it continue.”
