Our purpose-built yard has more than 30 boxes which is set in quiet surroundings off the main road in Lambourn. We have a five-bay horsewalker and plenty of turnout paddocks available and the Lambourn gallops are a 15-minute walk away from the yard.
Lambourn is to jump racing what Newmarket is to the Flat, and such are the facilities available in The Valley that I feel privileged to be able to train here at The Croft.
The gallops facilities are second to none. We are based in quiet surrounds, but just a 15-minute walk from the yard and the horses have reached their destination for morning exercise. We are spoilt for choice – there are seven all-weather and five grass gallops and we can either exercise up hills or stay on a flat strip of ground.
We can do sharp four or five furlong breezes or there is a more taxing nine-furlong gallop, and we also have access to an excellent all-weather schooling ground, where there are four fences to put the jumping to the test.
Back home we have 30 boxes, a five-bay horse-walker and plenty of paddocks in which we can turn the horses out after exercise.
I’d like to think that my horses want for nothing – we are looking for quality and therefore we treat them like equine superstars. We have a small but friendly and hard-working team, and no stone will be left unturned to ensure that each horse reaches its full potential.
Enjoy the website, and if you would like to go even further and take a leg (or more) in a horse with us, don’t hesitate to give us a call. Flat or jumping, we’ll try and find you something that gives you a bit of fun and, hopefully, some success, too.
We are well placed to send horses all over the Midlands and the South, with more than 20 racecourses within an hour or so from the yard.
